UNSERE VERSANDPARTNER

Austria is one of the easiest shipping destinations of all. As an EU member, it is part of the European single market – there are no customs declarations, no customs duties and no import VAT. You are essentially shipping just like within Germany, simply with a different delivery address.
Transit times are short as well. Most consignments from Germany reach Vienna, Linz or Salzburg within one to two working days; with express shipping, next-day delivery is the standard. Tracking, liability and collection work exactly the same as for domestic shipments.
However, one factor sets Austria apart from domestic shipping: the topography. For delivery locations in remote Alpine valleys, some carriers charge an out-of-area surcharge. This does not affect urban areas, but can apply to addresses in Tyrol, Vorarlberg or Carinthia. Our calculator displays any such surcharges before you book.
Delivery times and limits for the available services. The calculator determines the exact price for your shipment.
| Service | Delivery Time | Max. Weight | Max. Dimensions |
|---|---|---|---|
| DHL Express | 1 working day | up to 70 kg per package | 120 × 80 × 80 cm |
| UPS | 1–2 working days | up to 70 kg per package | up to 274 cm length |
| FedEx / TNT | 1–2 working days | up to 68 kg per package | girth up to 330 cm |
| Freight / Pallet | 2–4 working days | up to 1,000 kg per pallet | height up to 200 cm |
As of: July 2026. Delivery times from handover to the network, excluding surcharges for remote areas. For express, the higher of actual and volumetric weight applies.
Even without customs, a few details make all the difference. The address format: Austrian postcodes have four digits, whereas German ones have five. A transposed digit or an erroneously included German postcode reliably causes misrouting. Always write the country in full on the final line.
The recipient's phone number should always be provided. For express shipments and freight deliveries, delivery times are often coordinated by phone – missing numbers will delay delivery.
For commercial shipments, the VAT identification number serves as proof of intra-Community supply. It is not a requirement for transport, but relevant for tax purposes – check this with your accounting department.
For heavy or bulky goods, choose freight shipping; for stacked cargo, use pallet shipping. If you need it fast, check the options on our express shipping page. And if you don't want to drop off the parcel yourself: we offer collection directly from your premises.
